I love whirlwind romances. The kind where they’ve been friends for a few years and then all of the sudden they fall madly in love. It makes my heart swoon. Tony and Holly are definitely that couple. They’ve been friends since high school and a few years past and all of the sudden they fell madly, deeply in love. I was so excited to photograph their engagement session in downtown Portland and on the river in December. (They were troopers to brave the 40 degree weather) and I am oh so excited for their March wedding!

Some people find love instantly. They just know the second they meet each other. For others it’s a journey of ups and downs, but it’s the trials that make them stronger. No one will question your love if you’ve faced life’s challenges and survived: together. Chris and Desiree’s love has been an amazing journey full of twists and turns, but that has made their love and admiration for one another grow throughout the years and become so much more stronger. We don’t yearn for love to be simple, we yearn for it to be beautiful. The love stories we crave are the ones in which they endure hardship and in the end come back to live life together. It’s what every girl desires from the moment she discovers love. And I am oh so thankful that Chris and Desiree have found that love. They have fought for it and now it’s theirs for the rest of their life. I simply could not be happier for these two.

I shot Lucas and Yadira’s wedding in May and was so excited when they called to do a day after session. For those of you who are unfamiliar with day afters, they provide an opportunity for you and your love to have a photo session in your bridal gear. This is especially helpful if you were rushed during your wedding day or if you want a different look to add to your wedding photos. I love these sessions because the couple kind of gets to emotionally relive their wedding day all over again. And it’s quite fun to see people’s reactions when your walking through the middle of downtown L.A. in a wedding dress.
