Some people are destined for love at first sight.
The moment they meet, they just know.
They know they’ve met their soul mate.
Chris and Ashley are that couple.
It was a Sunday evening in late August and the temperature in Laguna was perfection.
It was one of those evenings that makes you fall in love with California all over again:
The salty air kissing your face,
the ocean breeze dancing with your hair
And a beautiful couple deeply in love, anxiously awaiting for the day they say I do.

I was only twelve when I first remember hearing about true love. My youth pastor told me that true love occurs when you least expect it. It occurs when you’re traveling through life and the person you are meant to be with happens to be traveling right beside you. It’s the person you least expect to share coffee with is most likely the person you’ll end up with for the rest of your life.
Joe and Karina’s story reflects my youth pastor’s words. They grew up together in church. Attending Sunday school, youth group, Bible studies and even traveling across the world with one another on missions trips. But they neither of them expected they’d find love, especially someone they had practically known their whole life.
And then it happened. They were traveling through life and realized that they were on the same path for a reason. It was if their love was ordained at the right time and in the right place.
Joe and Karina: I simply adored your wedding. Every moment I was in awe. You’re ceremony was beautiful. The words promised not only reflected your love for one another, but your reverence towards God and the beauty of joining your two families together. Thank you for exemplifying what it means to have fun. To Laugh and to Dance. May you enjoy every moment together. And may you always remember that your love is an example to us all of what it means to love for life.

So my husband and I are going to be out of town until the 22nd of September. We’ll be shooting Genelle and Buzz’ wedding in Maui! I cannot wait to be apart of this momentous occasion! So while we are in paradise, I’m going to try my hardest to work at little as possible. If I have been in contact with you the past few weeks, do not fret, I’ll be working on your weddings and shoots, but I probably won’t be answering too many emails or phone calls. So please don’t think I’m trying to ignore you, I’m just wanting to kick back and relax with my husband…
On another note, most of you know that Daniel and I are expecting our first baby at the end of November. Abigail Lauren will hopefully enter this world November 21st or 22nd so I’ll try and take some time off during November and all of December. If you interested in wanting an engagmeent or family shoot before Christmas, please email me so that we can schedule a session as soon as possible. Thanks again for all of your love and encouragement during this new chapter of our lives!

While I was in Oregon in August, I also had the privilage of taking Sarah’s senior portraits. She’s a vivacious young woman who is ready to conquer the world.
And I don’t doubt that one day, well, she just might.
